A coreless DC motor alsoenables slow constantly zooming from wide to 20xtele-end.A galvanometer drive iris, which is used in professionalvideo cameras, smoothly catches up with sudden changesin brightness. The new LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens has anF2.8-4.5 brightness that resists blurring even for telephotoshots, and an angle of view that extends from 24mmwide-angle to 20x optical zoom while maintaining thebody size. The lens unit consists of 16 elements in 11 groups,including 4 ED lenses, 5 aspherical lenses with 8aspherical surfaces, and a UHR lens.
