Sales Assistant and Used Equipment Administrator
We are looking for an Sales Assistant / Used Equipment Administrator to join our team!

• Passionate about understanding individual customers’ needs and giving excellent advice and customer service.
• Experience in a retail environment (preferable but not essential).
• Able to produce inviting and informative product displays.
• A keen photographic interest.
• Demonstrate the ability to work in a team & independently.
• Be able to work 40 hours per week including Saturdays (Day off in the week). Job shares would be considered.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
An opportunity has arisen for a Shop Sales Assistant / Used Equipment Administrator to join our team. Skears Photographic prides itself on being a small, independent, family business with our customer base always being at the centre of our focus. We strive to give honest and impartial advice to anyone looking to purchase camera equipment.
We specialise in new and used equipment, as well as offering a wide range of services including, developing and printing, photo gifts and repairs.
You will initially be working very closely with our team, who will guide you through every step of our shop and admin processes. As you progress, you will take on more and more responsibilities until you are in a position to be self-sufficient.
You will work 9-17:30. 5 days a week (1 day of which being Saturday), with a day off during the week. We are closed on Sundays.
MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE:
-Assisting in the day to day running of the shop. Including the serving of customers in a professional and friendly manner.
-Answering the telephones in a polite and friendly manner.
-Promote sales using instore displays and demonstrations.
-Booking in of incoming used equipment onto our written and digital databases.
-Cleaning and checking of used items and preparing them for sale.
-Photographing used equipment for advertising on our website and social media platforms.
-Working with all other members of staff to fulfil the needs of every customer.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
-Retail experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided; however any photographic knowledge would be advantageous.
-Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Adobe Photoshop would be preferred.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent. Job sharing would be considered.
Dependant on applicant’s experience level.
